8th Grade End of Year PTO Message
Your Pershing 8th Grade students will soon be coming home with an envelope containing information for their promotion ceremony and 8th grade dance.
There are several things which need to be signed and returned to school, starting with your permission slip to ride the bus and be picked up from Barnett Stadium where the ceremony will take place on June 5th at 10:00 a.m.
Next is the permission slip to attend the 8th grade dance. This needs to be signed and turned in when you purchase your dance ticket. Tickets for the dance go on sale during lunch on May 27th through the 31st. If your daughters are planning on shopping for dresses please keep in mind the following dress code rules. Your dress can NOT be strapless but over one shoulder and spaghetti straps are fine, the length must reach the bottom of your finger tips.
For the gentlemen collared dress shirts or polo and dress pants NO jeans. Ties and jackets are optional.
There is also a form that gives you the opportunity to purchase your “claim to fame” personalized star to keep after the dance as a great memory.
The 8th grade dance has been part of Pershing’s tradition for years. This is your opportunity to celebrate surviving middle school and party together as a class before you all head off to many different high schools.
I hope you will join one another in this magical night of fun.
As a reminder the dance will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 8 p.m. -11:00 p.m. here at the school.
Thank you Bobbi Nygaard and Ann Radtke (dance Chairs) Any questions please e-mail Bobbi at
