USE THIS FORM TO REGISTER & AS A FIRST-DAY HALL PASS

Chess Club Registration Form

FAQs – Frequently-asked questions

Can I come a few times to try it out first?
Yes!  Absolutely!  You’ll need to download the registration form and bring it with you as a first-day hall pass, but you don’t have to actually register until you’ve had time to try it out.

What if I don’t know how to play chess?
We will teach you!  We all started as beginners, and many of us still are.  It’s important to keep playing, because that’s how you learn.  We also just like each other’s company.

Is there any flexibility with the fees?
It costs a lot to buy and replace equipment, hire trainers, pay registrations, and have parties and awards.  Remember that these fees are good for nine months of activity.  This means that $60 general membership only really costs $7 per month, and a $250 Masters Membership breaks down to $28 per month.  Think of it as a great mental health membership that includes training with a national chess master!  If you absolutely can’t pay the fees, talk to the sponsor about it.  We may be able to exchange fees for parent volunteer activity.

How do I find out about activities and tournaments?

We use email exclusively.  Please plan on providing one or two good email addresses, and check the web page frequently.
