Introduction

Technology Education is designed to help the student prepare for a highly technical world.  Today the work force requires a more technologically literate person than in the past.  Students should approach this unique course as an opportunity to develop habits and skills that will help them in their post school years.  What the student gets out of the Action Lab will be determined directly by what they put into the class.

Succeeding in this course

Although the emphasis of this class is “hands-on,” students are required to read and write as part of each module. An important part of the learning process involves the integration of reading, writing, and math skills developed from those areas of study.

This class has been designed to offer students an exploration of the technologies that affect our daily lives. Modules have been developed to allow students to interact with audio, video, computer-controlled machines, and other “high-tech” equipment.

As the student proceeds through each module, they will be required to read information that will help them learn about that particular technology. Pay close attention to these reading materials – this information is designed to help you progress at the module stations.  Getting off track in this class will cause you to fall behind on your assigned module, which will lower your grade.  Stay on task and get help when you are stuck and you will be fine.
